About Us

Mission

Magic Memories was established to provide your child a loving, caring, and stimulating environment. We provide a safe, healthy surrounding, well-balanced meals and a concerned staff, in a warm, trusting, home-like setting. Our mission is to provide the emotional security, self-esteem and social development of the children in our care, with a strong value system of respect, courtesy and love for one another.

Philosophy

At Magic Memories we focus on children's interests, their developmental levels, their personalities or temperaments and their individual needs to provide important information about the experiences that should be covered, for both a class/group and individually. This understanding of each child becomes the backbone of our curriculum and defines the types of activities and experiences that are presented through intentional classroom planning. Child-centered learning is focused on the child's needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles with the teacher as a facilitator of learning. This creates a concept of the child having their own role in the learning process. Our center gathers information from parents and also from observing children to help drive lesson planning and the curriculum. We use information from families, the children's observations and other experiences to develop individualized goals for children that include experiences and activities that are challenging, yet achievable. All this combined lays a strong foundation for your child to achieve their highest level of cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.

Curriculum

Magic Memories uses the Creative Curriculum™ by Teaching Strategies. At the heart of the Teaching Strategies approach to early childhood education is The Creative Curriculum®, the country's leading scientifically based, comprehensive curriculum for programs serving children from birth to age 5. The curriculum will be integrated with high-quality assessment, professional development, and family connection resources to create a well-rounded program that addresses the needs of early childhood education professionals, children, and their families.

The Creative Curriculum® helps us plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program that promotes children's social-emotional development and learning in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. It combines the latest research and the freshest ideas into a forward-thinking approach to learning--one that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant for every child in their classrooms. This unique approach is designed to inspire teachers, to help them create a high-quality learning environment and, most of all, to support their important efforts as they open doors to successful learning. With The Creative Curriculum®, our program puts together a complete system that promotes positive outcomes for all children, including non-English language learners, children with disabilities, advanced learners, and more.

Nutrition

Since children may be in child care for a large proportion of their day, they will consume much of their daily food intake while in the service. This is why promoting children's healthy eating is important to us. Magic Memories provides two healthy snacks and one healthy well-balanced lunch every day.

Our menus were designed with the input of a nutritionist to be sure to reach all of the main food groups and offer a variety of healthy delicious meals. A healthy school environment encompasses more than the food served in the lunch room, we do ask that parents keep this in mind when providing birthday treats, party snacks, and additional food for their children. Our cook prepares the meals fresh each day so the children can still feel the comforts of home even during meal times. Please see our lunch menu schedule below.
